Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the sacrifice of so many brave men and women who have gone before us.

Let's face it - we wouldn't enjoy the many blessings we have had it not been for the courage and wisdom of great leaders in our country.

Sir Isaac Newton said, "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."

,Great Quotes from Great Leaders is the perfect way to celebrate this Memorial Day. It allows us to stand on the shoulders of giants - to read their words of wisdom and apply them to our own lives. It also makes a great gift to honor our veterans or to thank Dad, for his wisdom, on Father's Day.

Great Quotes from Great Leaders is a beautiful coffee table book with 160 pages, 75 photographs and over 400 quotations from great leaders. Here are a few of my favorites:
  1. "Well done is better than well said."
    Benjamin Franklin
    (1706-1790)
  2. "Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth."
    George Washington
    (1732-1799)
  3. "Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today."
    Abraham Lincoln
    (1809-1865)
  4. "It is better to light the candle than to curse the darkness."
    Eleanor Roosevelt
    (1884-1962)
  5. "A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both."
    Dwight Eisenhower
    (1890-1969)
  6. "Courage is fear holding on a minute longer."
    General George S. Patton
    (1885-1945)
  7. Â "Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. People grow old by deserting their ideals. You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair."
    General Douglas MacArthur
    (1880-1964)
